Timeless Floors creates hand scraped floors.  This means that they are created by hand, not by machine.  These hardwood floors do look stunning and give the appearance of a wood floor with a lot of rich character markings.  Although hand scraping is more costly to create, each hand scraped plank should have a more unique appearance over a machine distressed plank because of the hand scraping.  We provide you with a commitment that these will be floors that will last for years – and we will do it in the most efficient and cost effective way possible for you.

What do we need to know about choosing the perfect species of wood for the floor project?

First, it is not all about color!  You need to consider other attributes: texture, grain, lighting and the way your final color will play off these factors.  Then, the consideration for dimensional stability (the ability to keep its shape and size), durability and ease of finishing.  Finally, there is the matter of hardness, which is considered by our experts to be the most important strength property for wood used in flooring.  Ask us for our wood hardness scale for an overall comparison of different species.
